Supernatural shenanigans in a non-descript Midwest town. Imagine Jay & Silent Bob as a vampire and werewolf, but the personalities switched (the big one's the talker). In this unique sidestory (I hope only the first of many to come!) of Autumnville, Vic & Lowell must take down a demon clown worse than Stephen King's IT (Pennywise)! The writing is very charismatic. While reading, I really want to hang out with the motley assortment of supernatural in Vic & Lowell's crew. The characters are very well developed, even down to their habitual run for "Orange Crush and Cigs." After reading, I too felt, as Lowell puts it: "Ahh, that's the stuff!" Great read! I can't wait for more!
I enjoyed the read, the characters were fun to get to know. The book was a fast read. It was had to put the book down.
I was throughly enthralled from page one. P. Knecht brings to life the world of the supernatural that lurks alongside humanity, without anyone being any wiser. The heroes of the story are unique yet easily identified with. As they work to bring down the evil that seems to be around every corner. I can't wait to see what those two get into next.
I don't read to many books. P. Jordan Knecht is a great author, he kept me wanting to read more about each person. The story did not drag like it has on other books i have read. I recommend this book to anyone that likes anything dealing with supernatural premises or people who just like to read in general. Keep up the good work sir, looking forward to the next one.
Autumnville brings to life the idea that ‘just beyond the veil’ is an actual, tangible, place with its own creatures and spectral inhabitants, including some that can move seamlessly between the familiar world of an average Midwestern town and The Zone, this supernatural mirror of living activity. The tale’s hero’s, Vic & Lowell, loosely described as a vampire and werewolf respectfully, are often charged with the less pleasant duties associated with keeping the unrest between worlds to a minimum, and thereby continue to find themselves caught in the middle of faction wars, eternal rivalries, and the destructive path of ancient evil.
I loved Ouroboros for its swift pace, gut-churning evil, heart-pounding suspense, thrilling scenes, and laugh-out loud moments. The author has created some truly unique characters and creatures that feel as if they walk right off the page, and though his descriptions make you feel as if you are watching this new world unfold on screen, you are never bogged down with paragraphs of unimportant descriptive minutia. Ouroboros is a perfect introduction to Autumnville, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the stories written by this talented author.
